FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Under what circumstances would Big Crazy be forced to cancel?
Our experiences can operate all year round depending on demand but in exceptionally extreme weather conditions such as gale force winds or storms producing lightning, it may be necessary. In these circumstances Big Crazy will endeavor to contact you the customer with as much notice as possible but in exceptional circumstances beyond our control, this can be done on the day of your experience although this is very rare. Similarly we may have to cancel due to mechanical failure but this is not a common occurrence and we have back-up equipment on site to lessen this eventuality. If we are forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond our control we will of course re-book for you free of charge.
Expiry date?
Vouchers must be redeemed and experiences undertaken BEFORE the expiry date.
Will I be refunded if I cancel?
We are unable to refund cancellations due to scheduling our flyboarding instructors set for your time slots and hire of the venue which is done in anticipation of your booking.
What is involved with each experience and how long does it last?
All experiences purchased include:
- Getting you checked in and completion of necessary paperwork.
- Selecting suitably sized wetsuits, safety equipment and allowing time to change.
- Full comprehensive safety briefing.
- On dry land tuition in the use of the equipment.
- Different companies offer differing amounts of time on the water. Some deals are for weekdays only so please check the Fine Print on any pre-purchased vouchers.
For these reasons we ask you to allow a minimum of one and a half hours on site with us and why we cannot give a precise time you will actually enter the water arena.
I'm not a great swimmer, does this mean I can't take part?
On the contrary; Big Crazy have successfully flown clients who are poor-swimmers. The equipment is buoyant and versatile and will enable you to experience the sensation of being pushed through the clear blue fresh water by a dolphin! A great confidence builder for poor swimmers and a taste of what it's actually like to swim like an expert!
Where do I go on arrival?
On arrival at the water venue you MUST BOOK IN IMMEDIATELY. Any member of staff will direct you to a Big Crazy team member. You are not permitted to walk down to the water unless wearing the life jackets and safety equipment issued by Big Crazy to you prior to your experience.
Age Restrictions?
Flyboard minimum age 16 accompanied
Kayak minimum age 5 accompanied
Kayak minimum age 7 accompanied
What do I need to bring on the day?
Big Crazy supply all safety equipment, however, if you have your own wetsuit it is much more comfortable for you to bring this with you as we cannot guarantee that we will always have dry wetsuits available for you. Additional warm clothes are a good idea along with flip flops or trainers to walk to the water. Don't forget a large towel for your hot shower.
Can I bring Guests to watch me?
Yes of course! Our venue at Chepstow offers a "Viewing Terrace" at the rear of the View Restaurant where you will get a spectacular aerial view of the flights being undertaken and when the zipwire is running you will hear the screams as the riders approach the landing area just beneath you! London Docklands has "The Oiler", a converted floating barge offering cocktails and BBQ or mulled wine and mince pies, depending on the season, and is situated between the O2 and Excel directly beneath the Emirates cable car at the foot of City Airport. The Portishead venue is a Quay Marina and offers a selection of great restaurants and bars around the waters' edge. Guests are unfortunately NOT PERMITTED ON THE PONTOON OR NEAR THE WATER on any site as a matter of Health and Safety. We are inspected on a regular basis and cannot breach these safety conditions at any time. Anyone seen to be mis-behaving or breaching these safety rules will be removed from the venue immediately. GUESTS CAN HIRE A KAYAK TO BE ON THE WATER WITH YOU.
Can I Use my Go-Pro or Own Video?
Filming is intrusive to our instructors and to other clients so no filming equipment, phones or personal belongings are allowed on the pontoon or on the jetski other than the Go Pro HD Cameras used by our own instructors to video your experience (if you chose not to be filmed please let the instructor know). Our instructors film you up close and once you are in the air, they will hand you the floating camera to take your own footage showing height and perspective. Your video will be available immediately, supplied on a micro SD card, at the cost of just £25. Friends and family are able to film/photograph from their designated viewing area.
